Cobalt Ocean

Ranging from a deep to lighter blue. Crystal rings range from a silvery white to a blue with smaller purple crystals making occassional appearances. This color is primarily the result of Cobalt.

This glaze is an homage to Andy’s mom, Terry. Two prominent childhood memories are her Blue Glass collection and the smell of Lavendar, which she harvested from the garden every year, then hung around the house. This glaze is also of particular relevance because it may be the first departure from Zinc-Silicate based Willemite Crystal growth. The small speckling of lavendar crystals may actually be a Cobalt-Calcite, commonly known as Aphrodite Stone, though more information and testing are needed to be sure.
